Monitor Types


  1. Monitor Catoda Ray Tube (CRT)

This monitor is a monitor that has a tube that produces the electrons to hit the screen, creating images on the screen like the workings of television. These monitors use 15 pin port with 3 lines.

  1. Monitor Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)

The way this work is to monitor the provision of electric current stimulation outside the liquid crystal (material biphenyl), that will change the properties of light which is passed crystal.

  1. TFT LCD Monitor

TFT LCD technology in the form of a liquid crystal filled between two glass plates, the color filter glass and the TFT Glass. Color Filter Glass has color filter which emits color charge, while the TFT Glass has as many thin film transistor pixel display. Liquid crystal to move in accordance with the voltage difference between the color filter glass with the TFT glass. In general, each monitor is equipped with the settings menu, such as:
1. Switch ON / OFF the function to decide and connect electrical resources.
2. Brightness Control, which is sunny or other  screen.
3. Contrast Control, which is to regulate or other bright objects on the screen.
4. Vertical Size Control (V Hold), which is to set the bottom of the screen area and over.
5. Vertical Line (Line V), which is to regulate the level of objects on the screen.
6. Horizontal Size Control (H. Hold), which is to set the display area of the left and right.

Monitor computer / PC is not much different from the television receiver. The difference is technically the monitor has no audio or voice circuits, while the television has a sound receiver based AM, FM, Zweiton, and NICAM. Monitor has a series of video (raster circuit) as follows:

Video Processing: Detector video, video driver, video output (on the circuit have contrast control) Processing color (RGB Matrix): synchronization separator, the integrator for the oscillator, oscillator differentiator for horizontal, vertical oscillator (in this series there are regulatory and V. V. Hold Line), the output vertical, horizontal oscillator (in this series are regulators H. Hold), horizontal output, high voltage rectifier.

*. Picture tube (CRT)

The picture tube is very different when compared with radio tubes. The shape and functionally very different. By type, the picture tube can be divided as follows:

  1. Tube color image / color
  2. Tube picture black n white / black / white
  3. monochrome picture tube / one color

Color picture tube is divided into:

  1. large necked picture tube
  2. small necked picture tube

*. RGB Arrangement

The circuit is also known as RGB matrix circuit. The working principle is to change the matrix circuit voltage color differences that have been mixed with the synchronization signals provided demulator color back into a voltage difference in color.

*. Damage Tracking

Techniques used in tracking is the technique of localization of damage each circuit block. The first step, make sure that the source of electrical power is real and well connected. If the monitor turned on and not connected with the system unit, monitor not displaying anything. With the help of a set of system units and make sure that the video card is functioning properly, so we can see what the symptoms appear during power ON / OFF switched on. From these results we can analyze what parts of the problem.
